Green Legal Impact coordinates legal work, organizes content exchange, trains young environmental lawyers, and supports environmental and climate activists with competence and commitment. The organization thus fulfills an important function in civil society, especially in times when the political trend is toward deregulation and attempts are being made to curtail space for civil society action. If Green Legal Impact did not exist, it would have to be founded immediately.
