Most of Green Legal Impact’s work is made possible and boosted by funding from private foundations. If you are a founder or represent a foundation, we are delighted that you have found us.

And that the law in the hands of a strong, committed civil society is indispensable for achieving both. Our strategy guides us on our path. Green Legal Impact has broad and deep legal expertise in areas of law relevant to climate protection. We support GLI because its work helps to strengthen the work of many civil society organizations and actors who are committed to a more sustainable society.

If Green Legal Impact did not exist, this NGO would have to be invented: with their high level of legal expertise and practical experience, the employees bridge the gap between science and value-driven commitment to an open society. In doing so, they never stray from the legal foundations of our legal system but also contribute to the necessary development of the law. This helps to strengthen trust in our democratic community.

We support Green Legal Impact because legal action is increasingly becoming the last resort in view of the obvious failure of politicians to combat the ecological crises. GLI empowers, encourages, and connects young environmental lawyers for this task and promotes exchange with the climate and environmental movement. This has been lacking until now. And it will become increasingly important in the future.
